Big Bike Revival Project
The project is part of a national project called Big Bike Revival, funded by Cycling UK which involves free bike repairs up and down the country. Yesterday's event was run by local charity Open Trail and the mechanic was Mike Beaumont, World Number 2 Speedway Champion back in 1975; he usually mechanics for his BMX World Champion son and the GB Cycling Team but has helped at several local schools this year, fixing over 150 bikes, to which Wolverley presented 30 of them- a record turnout in one day! The teacher training was led by Open Trail CEO and 2016 and 2019 World 4X Mountain Bike Series Champion Hannah Escott. This service is available to all local schools.
