🎈Wolverley Students Celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday🎈
On Friday 8th May, Wolverley students came together to celebrate the incredible milestone of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. Throughout the day, students explored a timeline of his life and career, discovering with amazement that Sir David is ‘as old as television itself’.
A special “100 Faces of David Attenborough” trail was set up across the school site, featuring 100 images of Sir David — including 25 paired with animals such as a pangolin, meerkats, a dart frog and sea turtles. Students raced around at lunchtime to find every image, hoping to complete the full list and claim a prize. The excitement around school was infectious.
Our Animal Care Centre also offered students the chance to meet and feed the goats and meerkats — a perfect tribute to Sir David’s lifelong passion for wildlife.
To round off the celebrations, we held a birthday card design competition, with many outstanding entries submitted. A huge congratulations to Lily (Year 9) for her beautifully creative winning design.
It was a fantastic day of learning, fun and appreciation for one of the world’s most inspiring naturalists.
