We would like to thank Vistry Partnerships and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust for organising and providing the workshop that our group of students had the privilege of taking part in on Friday, 6th May.
The students had a wonderful time with Gill of the BBCT learning about the important role that bumblebees play in maintaining biodiverse ecosystems and food security. We were all fascinated Gill's immersive demonstration of 'the world of the bumblebee', gaining valuable insight into their lives as pollinators and thoroughly enjoyed our bumblebee walk around the school site in which Gill was able to show us some species of bumblebees up close. Students were then given the opportunity to sow wildflower and vegetable seeds to enrich the school site, as well as taking seeds and resources away to continue their activities as newly fledged ecologists at home.
We look forward to welcoming Vistry Partnerships and the BBCT back to work with us in the future!
