Department Vision

At Wolverley the Arts enable students to fulfil their ‘Ambition Unlimited’ through developing their self-esteem and respect for the contribution that they and others can make.  We encourage a love for the arts through material that considers complex issues, thoughts, feelings and actions.  We want students to use different forms of intelligence, recognising genius and learning from challenges in order to experience life in all its fullness. We develop pupils understanding of justice by ensuring that they have access to high quality materials. Through the Arts we give pupils the freedom to express their own belonging and understanding of the world and support them to become all that they can be.

Subject Information

Music can be found all over life at Wolverley from school productions and performances through to whole school assemblies, open evenings and concerts.

All students in Key Stage 3 are encouraged to find the music within them and have the opportunity to compose and perform their work in a safe and comfortable environment.

We have a range of instruments available for students to use in addition to a computer room where digital composition can take place.

Students have the opportunity to learn an instrument are regularly free to come into music during their free time and experiment or just jam with peers.

Music is an option at Key Stages 4 and 5 with many students composing their own pieces and going on to study further at college and university.
