Favourite subject at school:
I was always drawn to science from the moment I had my first lesson in Year 5. However, it was in the sixth form that I really started to enjoy Chemistry and Biology. I had two marvellous teachers that could convey very difficult concepts in such an imaginative way that I could absorb the knowledge like a sponge. I have always wanted to be a teacher like that for my students – they were my inspirations.
My spare time revolves around music. I play the bass guitar in a classic rock band and often gig in Worcester and the West Midlands. I also enjoy building guitars too. I have built a workshop in my shed and now spend many hours cutting and sanding new designs.
I live in Worcester with my girlfriend of 17 years. We have two daughters and a grand son (I know...I don't look old enough). I was brought up in Suffolk for my first 18 years and hence have supported the mighty Ipswich Town F.C. all my life, although you are most likely to find me at Aggborough on a Saturday afternoon these days.
I am a teacher because I want to make a difference and help people. I cannot think of a better way to do that than to help young people find their character and help them make good choices.
