On Wednesday 12th December, 24 students and 4 staff members travelled to the SnowDome in Tamworth to take part in an hour’s ski lesson with 2 trained instructors. It was an opportunity for some of the students and staff, who are on a ski trip to Italy in February 2019, to experience skiing on snow and to gain some valuable guidance from trained ski instructors. Considering the journey was long and busy, the students were amazing and on arrival changed swiftly and were fitted with boots, skis and helmets ready for the slope. We all had a wonderful evening with lots of laughter and some really great skiing from the students topped off with a well-deserved McDonalds on our way home! The trip was such a success that we are doing it all over again on Monday 14th January.
In addition to the SnowDome trips, during the autumn term, Miss Cox has been running ski sessions on our dry ski slope for those students attending the ski trip early next year. These free sessions have been invaluable and we are so lucky to have such an amazing facility on site and to have Miss Cox, who is a trained instructor, to enable the sessions to go ahead. We are all counting down the days to our departure to Italy!
We are delighted to have booked our ski trip for February half term 2020. The trip has been offered initially to year 7 students and payments are now open on ParentMail with the first instalment due by 11th January 2019. If you have any further enquiries regarding this trip, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
