The Community Ambassadors are a group of year 10 students who are committed to supporting other students in dealing with important issues that affect young people. They have had a busy term focusing on issues such as hate crime and anti-bullying.
Last half term the Community Ambassadors were raising awareness of hate crime, through sharing information during tutor time and running a stall in the Hub over a lunchtime; they were able to give out lots of informative leaflets on the prevention of hate crime and freebies to raise awareness.
During Anti-bullying week the Community Ambassadors visited tutor groups and handed out leaflets and spoke about bullying issues. They encouraged all students to sign our anti-bullying pledge which was available to sign during lunchtimes. These students pledged to not accept bullying and will report any bullying they see. Thank you to all those students who have signed the pledge and are committed to stopping bullying.
In the last few weeks of term the Community Ambassadors are raising awareness about domestic violence, visiting tutor groups and discussing the issues of domestic violence. They would like all students to make a pledge against domestic violence on a leaf which will be then be used to create a tree of pledges, these will then be used with pledges from all schools in the Wyre Forest to create a “forest of pledges”. They would also like to encourage all staff and students’ to wear white ribbons to show their support against domestic violence.
