Aardman Animation Workshop

Year 10 Art students had a fantastic day in a hands on workshop run by Will, a model maker for Aardman Studios. Will explained the process of how stop motion animations are made, the vast amount of people that are involved and their roles, as well as how he came to work for Aardman Studios and some of the big movies he has worked on.

Will taught everyone how to make Morph models and use the animation App on our iPads. Students then worked as teams to make stop motion animations. After lunch, he taught students how to make Gromit dogs that everyone was able to make and take home as a reminder of their fantastic day.

Year 10 Art students have been taking photographs and drawing the goats and chickens in Animal Care and now plan to make models and animate them as part of their GCSE Art course Animals Project.
