Wolverley Remembrance
Day

A remembrance service was held at Wolverley CE Secondary school on Thursday 10th November. The service is now in its 5th year at the school and has become an important event. Students and staff join ex-service men, during break time, to pay their respects to those who have fought in war, and to remember those who lost their lives. This year marks a 100 years since the Battle of the Somme in July 1916. During this battle nearly 60,000 were killed on the first day alone. As part of the school's remembrance of this event year 7 students have created poppies in remembrance of men who previously attended the school and lost their lives in conflict.
