During the week ending Friday, 18th March 2016 everyone took part in various activities to raise money for Sport Relief. The activities took place across the whole week starting with tubing down the height of Everest on Wolverley CE Secondary School’s ski slope. Students paid 20p each to use the new AstroTurf at lunchtimes. Boys in Year 7 PE went old school for a special gymnastics lesson on the ropes. Mr Round was seen being very dramatic showing how his past marine training enabled him to reach the higher limits, with Bailey, Kieran, Rupert and Marshall not far behind.
On Thursday, the new AstroTurf was officially opened and the students were joined by players from Kidderminster harriers who organised a penalty challenge activity and who kindly donated prizes for the winner and runners up. During the day on Friday, as part of a series of activities in PE lessons, students took part in a continuous football match, trampolining and ski slope tubing. There was a cake sale at break time and a BBQ available at lunchtime. The students organised and performed in a music concert which was well supported and the audience could have a flutter on the bug racing in between songs! Mr Knott took on all comers in the table tennis challenge, whilst round the corner Mr Lee was pelted by students and staff alike who paid to nerf the teacher! A fun time was had by all and a massive £1,090.24 was raised for Sport Relief! Thank you to everyone who took part and supported this wonderful cause.
