Author pays a visit to Wolverley school

THE author of “Dreaming the Bear” recently paid a visit to a Wolverley school.

Mimi Thebo visited Wolverley CE Secondary School on September 21 and talk to students about her life as a writer and the importance of reading.

She also attended the school’s open evening to talk to parents about the importance of reading for success at school and later life opportunities.

A spokesman from the school said: “Reading for pleasure is high on the agenda at Wolverley CE Secondary School and as a result all tutor groups have been challenged to read 50 books.

“Mimi’s book is available to borrow from the new ‘Sebright Book Lounge’, books can be borrowed during breaks and lunchtimes.

“There are also new Kindles for students to read and books can be ordered from the student librarians.”
