Pearson Teaching Awards 2014

Our PSRE Subject Leader, Kerry Poole, was awarded with a prestigious Silver Teaching Award in the Pearson Teaching Awards 2014 in May.

There were 20,000 nominations received from schools all over the country and Kerry was one of just 55 outstanding teachers who received the high accolade.

Having been kept in the dark about the win, Kerry was presented with her silver plato award during a very special surprise staff briefing, which was also attended by her parents, on Thank a Teacher Day, Friday 16th May 2014.  She then got the shock out of her system to do a live radio interview with BBC Hereford & Worcestershire.

Kerry will now join fellow Silver Award winners at the UK final of the Teaching Awards at London’s Guildhall on 26th October 2014, where 10 Silver Award winners will receive a Gold Award. The ceremony will be filmed and broadcast by the BBC.

Four other teachers were also awarded with certificates from the Pearson Teaching Awards on Thank a Teacher Day.

  • Rebecca Hawthorne (Deputy Headteacher) - Certificate of Excellence
  • Gemma Hackett (Teacher of Dance) – Certificate of Excellence
  • Danielle Baker (Subject Leader, MFL) - Highly Commended
  • Pam Moulam (Teaching Assistant) – Highly Commended
